Dylan Perry has a small interview on WhatIt.be, a new website that looks like it might have some potential. Can you think of anything more boring and "yawn, who cares" than someone saying, "I got a new website!" These guys seem to be on it with the regular updates on skate, music, and art. Keep it up, dudes.

Paul has a Mini Top 5 at Crailtap. Must have been pretty agonizing narrowing it down to just five. Sure the Mega Ramp made vert boring, but what's going to make the Mega Ramp not be gross looking skateboarding style? I'll go ahead and throw boring in for Mega Ramp, too. As you know, I can't stand it.

If you were at the Maloof Money Cup, you may have heard how Vern and Clements gave me so much crap over the mic when Dylan Rieder was around because I've had this near obsession type of attraction to his skating for about five years now. Dylan just brought ollie impossible tail grabs into the 21st century, but he did it in a way where if anyone else tries it, they just look like a turd. John Montesi must be shaking his baby cradles while watching this. Amazing. That gap back tail on the blue rail was off the charts, too. I remember when we first met him at Damn Am 2001. He won it and I thought, "He's good, but he's got kind of a gross little kid style." He was only 13 then. After just three years, he got grown man style and became my favorite am, then pro. Hell yah, Dylan.

For the 99.9% of us who eventually realize that our physical ability will not allow us to lead the life of a professional skateboarder, many of us take our other skills and focus them on something closely related to stay close to what we love. When Josh Stewart describes Paul Zitzer, I not only 100% agree, but I also realize that Josh is like the Paul Zitzer of his craft that has consumed him for the last 15 years: filming skateboarding. Josh has a nice story on the history of old Tampa and some amazing footage of Paul Zitzer. Add in guest spots from pre-snacks Sinclair and Matt Milligan at Marble Manor which looks exactly the same as it does today, sans-knobs, and it's a nice trip to early 90's Tampa: TIME MACHINE #17: Paul Zitzer.

Somehow since the early 90's, vert seems to have left the difficulty of the lip and taken
to the air. Maybe the mainstreaming of skateboarding and the television audience circus-like appeal of humans launching in the air played a part?
Who knows or cares, but take a look back to 1991 when
Mike Frazier was doing half cab blunt backside 360 out on vert. Where are the new Mike Fraziers?

Spend a minute on the amazing street plaza at Woodward Beijing with Billy Rohan. The entire city is covered in that fine layer of white dust that you see all over everyone's clothes. One bail and you're looking like a ghost. If you have an imperfect grip tape complex, it's the worst.
